They cautiously try to open the upstairs doors and search the rooms beyond, one at a time.
"What have you done with the group that came here with Corellus?"
They find one of the Xains hiding in a room at the end of the hallway. The rest are empty, though some look to have been used recently.
"The ones who made it inside should be unharmed, provided my orders were followed. Those who didn't, well, they unfortunately were smashed. I do wish it hadn't happened that way, but they simply would not listen. Now, why don't we-"
He is interrupted by the appearance of another Xain soldier, who runs out from the side of the building. The soldier begins to turn around when he sees the Mornornians, but Dror holds out his hand. "Calm yourself. These men will not harm you. Why don't you come over here and tell me what happened?"
The soldier nods. "Yes, General." He walks over to Dror, nervously glancing at the Mornornians.
When the soldier is within reach, Dror calmly draws his sword, and, in one fluid motion, smashes him. The general wipes the blade clean and re-sheathes it, turning back to the Mornornians. "Where were we?"
Shamrock: I need you to reply so we can keep this going.

IC: Xavic and Valithor hear voices and footsteps outside. The fighting seems to be over.
They disarm the Xain soldier and take him to Demiu. "Where are Xavic and the Dark Knight? Where is Dror hiding?"
The Morñornians stare in disgust at the slain soldier. "Why on earth did you smash one of your own?" asks Captain Galdan.
At first the soldier doesn't say anything, merely cowering before Demiu. Then Corellus speaks up, "Talk to him. No harm will come to you, and it may save some of your friends."
The soldier nods. "Yes, General. The prisoners are in one of the rooms back there." He points to the back rooms. "If the general's not with them, I don't know where he is."
"Liabilities. And, to be honest, I thought you might be more willing to talk to me after I showed that my allegiance does not lie with the Empire. Now, why don't we find the prisoners so we can start these negotiations?"
OOC: Just to clarify, you're talking to Valithor and you're still inside the room, correct?
OOC: Xavic says it more to himself then Valithor and yes he's still inside the room, just standing where the door would hide him from view if it was open.

Demiu nods his thanks to Corellus, and says to both the general and the soldier, "Thank you." He then turns to the men with him. "Search those rooms, and secure this man somewhere he will be comfortable until he is found by his own." A Knight and two soldiers go to search the back rooms. Two more men go to find a reasonably comfy chair to tie the Xain soldier to.
"That might be so, if you hadn't slain in cold blood a man who trusted you as one of his own. There is no honour in that." Galdan nods to twelve of his men, who start searching the area around the Tavern for more Xains.

Corellus nods back.
As they enter one of the back rooms, a Xain soldier, who had been hiding inside, lunges at them with his sword.
Dror smiles. "You sound like Corellus. And, also like Corellus, you fail to see the big picture."

They find no one outside the Tavern.
The first man to enter falls wounded, while the second lashes out at the Xain with his blade.
"And what big picture would that be?"
The soldiers quickly locate every way in and out of the Tavern, and post a guard at each.

The Xain fights back with the panicked strength of a trapped animal.
"For one thing, there are weapons other than those one holds in one's hands. Any man with a tongue is dangerous as long as he uses it the right way. More to the point, even if he did have a sword, he would not have fought me. I am his general. But even if he had fought me, he would have lost. Smashed is smashed, whatever the circumstances. At least this way it was quick and near painless. Who's to say it would have been so had we fought in a proper duel?"
There are three exits- the front door, the door behind the kitchens, and the door adjacent to the stable. The guards at the third hear a sound coming from inside the stable.

The man keeps fighting, trying to push the Xain back so that his companion can enter and flank his opponent.
"I see. Well, I suppose we should continue. Lead on."

The guards investigate the noises.
The Xain fights with such fury that the Mornornian finds himself being pushed back as the Xain tries to fight his way out of the room.
"Lead on where? I know as little about the situation inside as you. Perhaps I should have let that soldier live a little longer after all, eh?"
Inside the stable, they find a dragon's head sticking out of the ground. It appears to be what is making the noise. Boomer

The Morñornian allows himself to be pushed back, retreating into the corridor/hallway, where his companion is standing. The soldier who entered the room retreats in one direction, while the other stands to the other, so that the Xain cannot emerge without being attacked from both sides.
