"Don't give us any of that garbage. We're being paid to take you where you need to go, and I guess if we help some people along the way that's a nice bonus."
"So can you do it or not?"
"Of course we can do it." The others nod their assent.

"When will you be ready?"
"Give us a few hours."
As they begin to leave, a man in his late middle ages approaches Karthon, "Lluc Agusti Asidaso. I, um, couldn't help overhearing you're going to Oruthal. If I may I'd, um, like to join you."

"Very well."
Karthon raised a quizzical eyebrow as the unknown character approaches. "I suppose you also overheard why we're going? What intends you to do there?"

"I did. If you must know, I live there and I'd like to go home."

"As you wish. Stay about and I'll get you when we leave. Now, if you'll excuse me." With that Karthon left and came to where Alpida held.
"I have a crew... of sorts. But I convinced them that they will receive some sort of payment to which I cannot provide..." The rogue said, letting the question go unspoken. "Also, that chap there," Karthon points to the man he was just speaking to, "I agreed for him to come. He claims to be from Oruthal and wishes to return there. What are your thoughts upon that?"

The two soldiers tell him that she is outside.
"I can provide payment. How many did you find? Ask him if he has any skills."

"Excellent. Thank you. Er... A motley band of, five or six I think. I did not know how many were with the man I spoke to. Very well." With that Karthon went off to question the man he spoke to. He walks about the room, wondering where he went.

"I don't think that will be enough. I will look for another tavern."
He finds the man sitting alone at a table near the wall.

Karthon strode over to the table where the man was sitting and seated himself. "Pardon me, I do not think we had a proper introduction. I am Karthon, a Rogue," he said with a friendly nod, "what skills have you, my friend?"

"I am a navigator by trade. That is why I am here and not home, with my family."

"I see now... You're welcome to come then, friend. I'll inform Alpida, another of Oruthal." Karthon with that said leaves to relay the information to his acquaintance.

"Thank you. I shall follow you, I think. I am ready to leave this place."
Lluc follows Karthon outside, where Alpida is waiting. They greet each other briefly before Alpida says, "We need more crew members. I do not think what we have will be enough. Unfortunately, this appears to be the only tavern. We will have to find another place."
A little hesitantly, Lluc interrupts her. "I'm afraid you have been misinformed. This isn't the only tavern. It's just the only one that, well, you'll see what I mean." He leads them across town to a short, wide building that has clearly seen better days. "Perhaps only the two of you should go in. I don't think they'll take kindly to too many of us."
Alpida agrees, placing a ready hand on her morning star in case of a trap. She leads Karthon inside, and they find what appears to be a very normal tavern, with one exception. Whereas the other tavern was occupied entirely be humans, save the dwarf Stijn, this one contains none other than Karthon himself.

Karthon followed the situation further into it's mundane chore of simply acquiring a crew, yet what happened next caught him completely off guard.
Witnessing this strange event after entering the dwelling, the seasoned rogue drew his short sword holding it ready. "What is this?" He whispered to no one in particular.
