That is most marvellous change, the 2200 limit kept making me split up my RP posts.
This is why I could never get into roleplay. It makes D&D look appealing I mean what
You mean you don't enjoy spending hours writing paragraph after paragraph about pretending to be made-up people in made-up worlds, then rewriting them after your computer crashes mid-post???

Yeah, there probably is, though I forgot how it goes.
That makes sense. Just a little difference that is big enough to be noticed.
I was kind of worried that faceID on my phone wouldn't like it, but apparently it has enough margin for error, or looks at different facial structures, that it didn't care. Hopefully I can get comfortable enough with ML algorithms soon that I can learn more about how those facial recognition things work...
Very interesting. I guess it's close enough, the same way that the system works with the same person having different hairstyles, facial hair, and cosmetics. That'll be neat. It's probably a neural network with a lot of layers and filtering. I took a computer vision course and learned some of the techniques, but only at a hobby level with a single PC. All of the state-of-the-art neural networks usually run with specialized hardware.

Every once in a while it will work with a mask on and I'll be bemused. Feels like high school typing in the code most of the time when I'm out and about (mask mandate in my city if it wasn't obvious ) My new advisor has done a lot of past work with computer vision, but I can't say I know a whole lot. That's something I also need to come to understand.

That's amazing how it still detects faces with half of it covered by a mask. I think I understand that feeling well (Same in my city as well ) If you do ever get to Computer Vision I'm sure you'll find it interesting, and maybe even helpful in your future research.

I feel like that's more of a glitch than anything else, but it happens on rare occasion. The field of ML and ML-related things is admittedly overwhelmingly broad.

I suppose. If I remember the hardware on iPhones correctly, I think there's a depth and heat sensor so that faceID can't be fooled by a picture of your face. For sure. There's so many places and applications to use it in, and it's only getting even broader as technology improves.

I know that the two factor authentication app the university always makes me use whenever I try to open my email on my computer doesn't like when I roll my eyes at it

That's hilarious. I didn't know that Two Factor Authentication can require FaceID. I guess it's an Apple thing.

Yes, to access the app itself you need it. I like having it for my banking apps, but it feels excessive for the two factor apps. Whatever, I guess
