Good to know. I myself am a detail person but am aware that plenty of people aren't. Or some are like my dad who are detail people but don't have room for others' details.

Yep that's probably me.
I am a detail person who has room for everybody's details but my own
You may regret opening that can of worms Good intrigued because the techniques they used are still relatively new and not widely adopted yet. Everything was built in CG but they used a cell/toon shader to give it that 2Dish look. For a really long time studios thought the Pixar realism was the standard for 3D animation. In recent years there has finally been a move away from that and people are really beginning to push the boundaries of what can be done with the computer, resulting in new styles like that.
Bad intrigued because the execution looks not great. The characters have the stiff jerky movements that remind me of early clone wars but in the bodies of "2D" characters that should move more steadily. Additionally, the cell shader just gives the whole show no texture. Everything feels shiny and uncomfortably smooth. Star Wars doesn't feel right if there isn't a bit of grime.
I do not regret opening this can of worms because I understand your explanation and it seems consistent with why the mere sight of it was making me uncomfortable You're not encouraging me to watch it...
Good, it is not often I get to rant about animation. The 2003 Clone Wars shorts are a better use of watch time if you want 2D Star Wars. Was I supposed to encourage you to watch it?
Woe is you. Ah, excellent. Oof, yes, I have a friend who was hoping to learn to drive but hasn't been able to because of said restrictions. Oh, that's unfortunate. I hope you are able to get through it without difficulty. Yes, if I had some free time I'd probably learn a new language or something along those lines.
I mirror the above sentiments wholeheartedly.
Fortuneately I am now freed from isolation. My sister is still coughing but fine otherwise and seems happy. I'm considering refrreshing either my Latin or German, both of which I used to study but stopped a couple of years ago.
Excellent.
Splendid! I'm very glad for you.
That sounds like a spiffing idea. Do many schools teach Latin nowadays, or is it something you can learn online/from a private tutor?
