The next day, I was awoken by the sound of a loud banging sound and shouting. *** They noticed apparently. “You are not under arrest, ma’am, this is simply protocol. The Eternal City Administration and Staff would like to have a word with you.” King explained. “It is requested that you bring the Soulbinder with you, and your room mate.” “My what?” I asked, genuinely confused. “Your cat.” Sam clarified dryly. “Oh.” I answered and smirked slightly. “Just a moment please, I’ll get the sword and the cat.” “Take all the time you need.” King nodded as I left. Frost was waiting in the living room, still perched atop the blanketed sword. “Frost, you--” I began.

FBI, OPEN UP
Not arrested? What's going on? >.>
*hides magic sword behind back* Oh, hello there. Gehehehehe…. wouldn't you like to know.
I stepped off to the side into the pale shadows, behind the two rows of pew on the left, and closed my eyes. I can’t do this. I can’t do this. I can’t do this. I thought. It was so loud and there was so much movement and so many faces and sounds and…and…I didn’t want to think about it. Too overwhelming. As I slunk into the shadows, wishing to just melt into them, I began to feel light-headed. I gave a small yelp and squeezed my eyes shut, leaning against the wall. Even though my eyes were closed, a burst of colors danced before my eyes and spread out into a scene of some sort. It looked like a group of people were making their way through forested mountains, maybe? I didn’t recognise any of them but somehow I could feel a sense of friendship and connection to them. Then I noticed that I was with them! Then, the scene sped up and flashed through a fight of some kind and then before I knew what was happening, a column of purple flame appeared before me until it morphed and changed into two glowing purplish eyes, glaring at me with a vicious look of hatred. I unintentionally voiced a stifled scream and sank to the floor. The vision vanished and I blinked several times, once again in the city hall and somehow unnoticed by the crowd. Or all of the crowd but one. “You OK?” A voice asked. I opened my eyes and rose shakily to my feet. LordTigress was standing near the open double doors. I opened my mouth to explain but all that came out was; “Yeah, I’m fine.” She smirked and nodded wisely, “Ohhh, so that’s why you were hiding in the corner. Gotcha.” “That’s none of your business.” I growled, embarrassed. For a few seconds, I thought she was going to ask again but then she shrugged, “Suit yourself.” Tigress answered and disappeared into the crowd. What was that? I blinked several times then made my way around to the back of the room where a group of mods waited for Quark. “I’m here,” I greeted. “What should I do? Find a seat or do I just--” “Just stay with us for now,” Essa said.
“Alright.” I said, as I followed her and the other mods to remaining seats at the end of the first, front pew. A moment later, the double doors were finally shut and Quark walked up to the podium, flanked by two sharp-looking Mod bodyguards. Several gasped were heard at the sight of their rarely-seen leader. “Hello, citizens of Eternal City!” She greeted cheerfully. Applause and cheering rang out now, the whole gathering excited for the occasion. After several minutes, she and her bodyguards silenced the crowd. “Thank you, everyone, really,” Her face darkened, “But this gathering has been called for reasons of utmost importance and peril.” Then Quark went on to explain to them what she’d told me. A long while later, Quark was nearing the end of her explanation. “…And this is why I request that nine volunteers accompany Miss Paintbrush on her journey to restore safety to our city and lands. With that said, who is willing to go with her?” There was a long silence, then a familiar voice called out. “I will.” I, along with many others, turned to see Rome, seated with the senior staff members, stand. “I will go.” He said again, louder. “Thank you, Rome,” Quark nodded, “Anyone else? “Yes, I will go, as well.” Tigress said, rising from her seat. Not long after she said that, her brother spoke. “I’ll go too!” MockingbirdInc said next, a bit sheepish. “I can’t let you go without me.” “If Tigress is going,” ninjagofanmam called, “then I’m going too.” “I’ll go too,” Gnuehchcaz said. “Well, then I have to come too,” said bun02 cheerfully. There was a pause, but then after a minute or so, another person spoke. “I’ll go, for Sensei Quantum.” Eli announced in a slightly sad tone. “For Tad.” “I’ll go too!” Essa said to the gathering. “Me too! Me too!” BabyDill announced, “I can’t let Essa go alone, who will be there to keep her in line?” “Excellent! Excellent!” Quark nodded, smiling brightly. “Neko and company, please come up here.” I stood up and followed the volunteers up the steps to the stage and we formed a line on one side of Quark.

@bold: Hey it's a me, cool. Very accurate actually, I could see myself saying something like that.

Haha, Frost is great, love him. I love the setting and the idea of the whole community getting together for special meetings like this-- OH MY GOSH IT'S TIME FOR AN ADVENTURE! The whole gang! The whole gang's coming along! OK, seriously, I cannot wait to see how you write everyone and their interactions with one another. I'm almost unhealthily excited for this. x3
Also, if you ever start feeling tired of writing this, which I sincerely hope you won't, Ō,Ō I'd be more than happy to volunteer to help out 'cause I'm too invested in this now. XDD

Very nice, Neko! I can't wait for what comes next. =D
@bold The funny thing is that Essa and I have actually had IRL conversations about how when she travels I'll have to go with her to "Keep her in line." XD
