*** I nodded triumphantly and dashed down the hallway, quietly so that the half-asleep guard didn’t notice until it was too late. Telekinetically, I snatched the flashlight from his belt and knocked him upside the head with it. “What about second breakfast?” He asked in a sleepy voice as he slumped to the ground. ***
I am truly curious... what about second breakfast?
(Great job!! Keep going!! I cannot wait for the next part!!! You really like to kill us with the cliff hangers. )
Doesn't seem fair of Essa to arrest him for that when she committed the same heinous crime herself...
XD I'm not so fond of that term either, but more because it makes me sound 40+ years older than I am.
What. Essa, the moderator Essa, my friend Essa--that Essa--committed this deplorable crime? How did she become a mod with that on her record? Lol, I didn't know that she did it too. XD
Right? It makes me think of poofy dresses and it makes me feel old, neither of which is very fun.
OH... xD I actually wasn't aware anyone else had done it, I thought Essa was the original culprit. Come to think of it, though, I don't know how a moderator ever got away with that...
XD Heh, I've worn my share of poofy dresses, but I don't appreciate being aged from 17 to 67 with the implication of one dastardly word.
*snip* “Okay,” I whispered, “I’ll knock him out, you grab the keys.” “Hey, that’s not fair! Why do you get the cool job?” Dude complained. “You get the keys and I’ll knock him out! I don’t want the wimpy job.” “Shut up and get the keys or I’ll knock you out,” I snapped in a half-whisper. “Yes, ma’am.” He gulped apprehensively. I nodded triumphantly and dashed down the hallway, quietly so that the half-asleep guard didn’t notice until it was too late. Telekinetically, I snatched the flashlight from his belt and knocked him upside the head with it. “What about second breakfast?” He asked in a sleepy voice as he slumped to the ground.
I shook my head and gave a deep (and fake) sigh, “My good fellow. You clearly have much to learn. You see, people do not simply threaten me. I threaten them. Such is the way of things.” “Yeah, yeah,” He rolled his eyes. “We have one minute left, let’s go! The new round of guards will be here any moment now.” “You’re right,” I agreed, “We can argue later, if we must, but now’s not the time.” The four of us were mere yards away from the exit of the Mod Tower. We had just come into the first room on the first floor of the tower, out of the prison basement. “There’s the door,” I said, gesturing to the doors. “What are we waiting for?” Silently, we left the tower at a run. Cool, moist night air greeted us, smelling of dewy grass and spicy flowers and city scents. The hum of vehicles could be heard along with the murmur of voices in the distance. It wasn’t difficult to see since nearly every now-house building was brightly illuminated, plus the moon was full. I personally would have preferred it to be much darker, as I could easily see in near total darkness, but it was dark enough to escape without drawing attention to ourselves. “We did it.” Squeaky whispered. “We’re free.” “Yeah,” I murmured. “So long, it was nice meeting you.” Dude said, before slipping off into the darkness. “See you around.” Weirdo nodded and followed him. “Yeah, same to both of you.” I said quietly. “Thank you for helping us,” General Squeaky said sincerely. “If I can ever repay you in any way, just let me know.” “I will, and the same to you.” I smiled then we went our separate ways. I pulled my hood up and hurried out of the Mod Tower Gardens, staying in the shadows, and began the long walk home. I lived at least a mile away from the tower and after a long day, walking that far was the last thing I wanted to do. I had little other choice though, especially since Frost was probably worried sick.
