*** " It is a lot to take in I suppose. You get the general idea though right? " " Yeah. " Jadyn thought back to what Alpha had said about the past master of fire leading the attack. Zephyr hadn't mentioned that... " Good then, I can explain my father's plan now. Basically we do as prophecy says and Gamma watches the skies for the asteroid. He's discovered that the particular asteroid that's on the way has a substance in it that is attracted to aurora minerals, so he believes that gathering many aurora minerals to one location will bring it to where we want it. " Said Zechariah.
*** " I mean the pack will then be able to change into wolves. The pack has always seen magic as to powerful, but my father sees this spell as medicine, as a way to restore the pack to how they were before being scarred. That's not all either, not long before I left the pack had begun to expirement with how we could make weapons out of the aurora minerals. *** " Yes, the plan is to make my baby sister empress. She will then make a decree to get rid of any and all elemental masters, and then the hunt will be on. The plan is to do this after the asteroid comes and before we restore ourselves to how our ancestors were. " " Who would agree to such a decree? " Asked Jadyn. " People who think like my father, that's who, and so long as there is a handful of them who are loud enough and powerful enough no one is going to stop them if they don't want trouble. " Repiled Zechariah. " And your sister is ok with doing this? "
" That is one thing I got filled in on when they were putting the casts on my legs. Apparently my sister is fully on board with it with a passion even greater then my father's and she is very close to being crowned empress of Ninjago. I had no idea, all this time... If I had been here for her would she have turned out different I wonder? I never had a chance to get to know her, to her I'm just her older brother who ran away before she could remember anything. But, I had to run away, there was no way I could stay, not after what I saw they did to Gravis... I scared for Grace's life, do you know what that's like? It's a horrible feeling, even worse then being scared for your own life. " Jadyn nodded in understanding, he had been afraid something would happen to his parents when they were on the Dark Island facing the dark force that was there. He also remembered the time they had lost Zephyr in the mine, and when he was a child and they had lost Zalea to the river... So he did know that feeling all to well. Zechariah continued. " So I guess you see what's at stake here now and why my father can't be allowed to succeed. Now, there's the role that you play in all this. I understand my father wants to send you on missions. Do you know what kind? " Jadyn looked down at his feet, suddenly feeling a little awkward. " He said that my top priority on missions is to make sure Zephyr is safe if she is there. I'm assuming I'd otherwise be helping the pack gather aurora minerals or something. " " I see, well I definitely can't object to that. Say, I have an idea. If you encounter Zephyr on missions you can pass her information that we gather here so our friends and family members know what the pack is doing and planing, giving our side a fighting chance. " " How would I do that? " Asked Jadyn intrigued. " Simple, we write down what we can on a note and you just need to find a way to give it to her without the pack members noticing. Surely you can figure that out. " " Sounds easier said then done, but I can definitely try. " Said Jadyn thoughtfully.
" Now there's the matter of you being around the pack. I'll tell you what I know, but be warned that things may have changed since I was here and all I tell you may not be relevant anymore. " Said Zechariah. " I understand. " Said Jadyn. " The pack is organized to function under the current Alpha's orders with ranks. Student rank, Pack rank, Wolf rank are the main ones. Let's put it this way, the more stripes on the wolf paw on their uniform the more respect will be expected. " Jadyn glanced at the wolf paw symbol on Zechariah's gi, there were three thin stripes going through it. " So you have three, how much respect do I have to give you? " Asked Jadyn. <br> " Don't worry about that with me. I have three because I'm Alpha's son, that the highest rank anyone who isn't alpha can get really. And also, students don't have paw prints on thier uniforms. " " So where would I be as far as ranks? " " The very bottom of the pecking order I would guess. There's a reason we call elemental masters foxes. A fox is much smaller then a wolf, fewer people have respect for the small sly fox then the big strong wolf. A single wolf could smash a fox if it wanted to. Foxes are inferior, the pack believes elemental masters are inferior, so you would probably be inferior. Uh, no offense though. " " None taken. " Jadyn shrugged halfheartedly. " I figured that would be the case. " Zechariah nooded and added. " There's also the special positions like cook, healer, skygazer, head of weapons, head of mineing, the person in charge of resources and such. I have no clue who holds these positions these days. There were quite a lot of new faces at the meeting, and some that were missing... Anyway, most of the pack is active at night you've probably noticed. Some live here and others have homes and have lives elsewhere. There's the tasks such as mineing and other smaller tasks and missions which are done daily. Every month someone will be chosen to assassinate someone who could be a potential threat. "

" Usually a family member or very close friend of an elemental master or an elemental master themself. When there were sorcerers around we went after them and their families too. I helped aid in the destruction of so many people... " Said Zechariah grimly. He looked down at his casted legs. After a moment of silence Jadyn said.
" That's where you didn't listen to the pack though. You changed after being sent to smash Gravis, Grace and their brother. " After another moment Zechariah spoke.
" I didn't change right away. I made the choice to spare her, to spare them all and save them. But even after that it took a little while to finally see what I had been involved with all my life was wrong. You see, what pack is doing is right in their eyes. To most they see it as necessary, and some even find fun in it. To them, you are the villain in their story. They see themselves as the heroes. They are blinded by either not knowing the truth or by simply rejecting it. " Jadyn looked down at his hands and said.
" My father fought many foes who knew full well they were doing evil, there were also many though who believed what they were doing would make the world better for them. I only hope I can stop the pack like my father would, he always made it look so easy. But, I'm afraid, I'm afraid if I do the wrong thing the world as we know it won't be safe anymore. " Zechariah smiled gently and put a hand on Jadyn's shoulder.
" The world has always been unsafe in one way or another, the best we can do is make it safer by protecting what we care about most. " Zechariah removed his hand and wheeled his chair over to the wardrobe and opened it. He pulled out two training knives and said. " If it would help, we could continue your ninja training here. I might be able to teach you a thing or two. Especially the pack's style of knife combat. " Jadyn stood and said.
The sun was setting on a brilliant orange sky overlooking the large estate of the mistress' home. She looked out from her balcony, her long kimono style dress blew in the wind. She looked on at the horizon, one day soon everything in her view and far beyond it would be under her control. The people of Ninjago wanted a leader again, someone who could solve all their problems. So it wasn't hard to get people to like her, promising to take care of all the current injustices in the world. It's not that she wouldn't solve the people's problems, she would eventually, but first she had to make the world ready for her father's plan and carry it out. Someone walked onto the balcony behind her. She looked back hopefully but gave a look of disgust when she saw it was one of her servants, Taj.
" I told you not to bother me when I'm out here. "
" My apologies Mistress Loveta, " He said bowing slightly. " I merely came up here to tell you that we have discovered that we are having trouble getting the more isolated villages and towns to agree to crowning you empress. There are enough of them that this could potentially stop you from achieving your goal. " Loveta turned on him rage quickly burning up inside her.
" What?! I thought you said you had that under control and that I need not worry about that! " She closed her eyes turning to the sunset again and said more calmly. " However, that doesn't mean nothing can be done about it. I can try switching some things around so that it won't matter if they disagree. Otherwise, if that doesn't work we can always ask my father to root out a few of the trouble makers. "
" I could ask him about that on my next trip to the den. " Taj offered.
" No need, I will be going there tomorrow, you and some others will accompany me. Now if that's all you have to report you may leave my presence. "
" As you wish Mistress. " Then he left. She looked out at the horizon for a minute longer, then she went into the room that the balcony was connected to. On the wall was a huge painting of a pack of wolves chasing a small group of foxes.
Most of the canvas that the foxes were on had weapons like arrows, swords, spares and knives stuck on it. Except one fox with was higher up on the painting so it was hard to reach. Every time Loveta saw this painting and other pieces of art and symbols like it she was reminded of why she was trying so hard to become empress. Rage burned in her again at the sight of the fox in the painting with no weapons on it. She took a long thin dagger from the folds of her dress and throw it at the painting. It stuck into the target firmly and right on the face of the red furred fox.
Moe's family farm, night
Zephyr crept through the hallway of the farmhouse as stealthy as she could. She made to the dark stairway, she winced when the board on the stair made a large creeking noise. She went down the stairs as quickly and quietly as she could. Finally she made to the door and unlocked it, slipping out the door she closed it carefully behind her and rushed out into the open. She started to run, she didn't even know why, she just had to get away, she had to find them. Zephyr stopped short of the road as her mind finally caught up with her. What was she doing? Running away wouldn't help, she would only get herself lost and that would destroy the entire point of running away in the first place. She walked back to the farmhouse slowly. She didn't want to go inside just yet though, she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep. She wandered over to a brick wall that was on the property, it must have had a use at one time but now it seemed old and falling apart. Zephyr used her gravity so that when she ran over to the wall she ran up it and onto it and then preached on top of it. She had been realizing that she had much more control over her element ever since unlocking her true potential, as if it was somehow tamed to her will now and in sync with her actions and motives.
Zephyr thought back to that morning when she had fallen asleep in Copic's vehicle. She had had a dream... She had been in the forest as a wolf again, she had seen a pack of wolves chasing a wolf and fox, and there was an old wolf who had starred at her meaningfully, and almost thought she heard him speak... Zephyr was sure now she knew what the wolves in her dreams represented, and the fox and most of the other creatures... Zephyr glanced up at the endless dark sky above losing track of her thoughts for a moment as she got lost in the sight of the stars.
" Ya know, you shouldn't rely on your element to do everything for you. " Surprised Zephyr looked down at the ground to see who had spoken, it was Sensei Lloyd. He quickly climbed up up the brick wall with his bare hands and then settled himself on the wall a few feet away from Zephyr. " Me and my friends had to learn that the hard way sometimes. You are improving though, so don't let that hold you back from practicing as much as you can." He added.
" What's the plan tomorrow? " Asked Zephyr.
" We continue to search the forest as well as the surrounding area. " Replied Sensei.
" Is there any way to make the search go faster? Anything, you name it. "
" Can you make an elemental dragon? " Asked Sensei.
" No, but I could try. " Said Zephyr.
" Are you sure you are ready for that? You only just unlocked your true potential, advancing to the next level so quickly is something that is rarely if never seen. I suggest you wait until you are more experienced for that. "
" What can I do then? " She asked mildly frustrated. She knew the idea of unlocking an elemental dragon so soon was bordering on fantasy.
" Maybe we can get some vehicles. " Said Sensei Lloyd thoughtfully. " Then we could broaden our search. "
" Where would you get them? " Asked Zephyr. Sensei grinned.
" I have my ways. "
" What can I do right now though? " Insisted Zephyr. Sensei sighed.
" Can you really not sleep? " Asked Sensei. Zephyr shook her head no. " Nathan can't either, last I checked he was laying in his sleeping spot wide awake. Moe is talking with his brother about everything that has been going at this very moment. And Lisa although distressed as any of us about all this found a way to sleep anyway because she knows it is wise. You aren't alone in this Zephyr, we all want to find and rescue them as soon as possible. But we can't tire ourselves beyond reason. It will only give the pack the advantage they want over us. Rest, so that you stronger tomorrow. " Zephyr picked a piece of broken brick off the wall and tossed it to ground below. She thought about what Sensei was saying, he was right...
" Ok, I will try to rest, but no promises that I'll be able to sleep. " Repiled Zephyr.
" Try thinking of other things to calm your mind, perhaps it will relax you. " Advised Sensei Lloyd. He then jumped down from the wall and went back inside. Zephyr stood there awhile longer and then went inside as well. She returned to spot she had been sleeping in in the attic with her family. Then she tried to follow Sensei's advice .
" The world has always been unsafe in one way or another, the best we can do is make it safer by protecting what we care about most. " Zechariah removed his hand and wheeled his chair over to the wardrobe and opened it. He pulled out two training knives and said. " If it would help, we could continue your ninja training here. " I would be more then glad to be your student. "
All riiigghhht, Zechariah's looking after Jadyn! I like it. :3

Zechariah and Jadyn being persecuted by the Pack?
Hi Lloyd. :3
If Zephyr learned to summon her dragon of gravity. . . would that dragon have to fly upside down because of its element? wow, what tigress .-.
