Keegan started talking the first chance he got. Copic started talking too. Nathan would put in his two cents into Copic and Keegan's seemingly aimless conversation now and then. "Wait," said Copic to Keegan, "so if I know everyone, and YOU know everyone. How come we've never met??" "That's a good question!" said Keegan. "Come on guys, it's obvious you both don't know everyone. And you've probably walked by each other before or something," said Nathan. "Nah, I'm sure I would have acknowledged someone like her if I saw her in public," said Keegan. "I wish I could say the same, but to be honest bro you kinda look a normal dude at first glance," admitted Copic. "That's alright, us travel guides aren't usually noticed until someone needs our service." Replied Keegan. "Ah, I see. So that is why you are a dying breed. I'm so sorry." said Copic. "Don't be. The world is always changing, so maybe someday the people of Ninjago will need us again. We were extremely helpful to villagers who needed to be evacuated and relocated during the first serpentine war." said Keegan. "You know, there was some humans who sided with the serpentine," said Nathan. "Yeah, like my grandpa!" said Copic cheerfully. "Your grandpa?" asked Keegan curiously. Copic replied. "Yes, yes, you know, Master Chen of Master Chen's Noodles, he was also a sensei, a warlord, a ghost, a serpentine, and a cult leader. Wait, why are grandparents usually cult leaders?" "I think that's just your family and Zephyr's family..." said Nathan. "Oh, you have no idea, I've heard of others," said Copic. "Me too! You hear a lot of weird stuff when you're on the road a lot and know so many people," said Keegan. "Look, guys, I've heard of and even met my fair share of cult leaders. But they aren't all grandparents," said Nathan rolling his eyes. "Anyway, as I was saying, grandpa Master Chen did a lot." continued Copic, "And he had the coolest chair ever! It could do anything! I'm going to find that chair and make it mine, someday, somehow..." Copic made what looked to be an evil grin and rubbed her hands together. Skylor looked concerned. Lloyd rolled his eyes and brought his attention to taking the jet off autopilot and landing.
Once landed, everyone got out and had a late lunch at Lloyd's own house. After that, part of the group went over to Kai and Skylor's home to check on the cat Zephyr found. He was doing well. Then everyone got into Copic's vehicle and drove to Moe's family farm. They went into the farmhouse and alerted everyone of their arrival. It was quite crowded. With Moe, his parents, his two younger brothers. Zephyr, Gavin, their mother, their three siblings, three cousins, uncle, aunt, and grandparents. Lisa, Copic, Keegan, Nathan, Skylor, and Lloyd himself. Twenty-four people in all. And Lloyd could barely keep track of names. Zephyr's family was happy to see Gavin. The siblings and cousins telling him everything that happened and asking him questions about what he had been doing in the city. Keegan seemed energized by the presence of so many people and attempted to make conversation with as many as he could at once. Copic somehow managed to get into an argument with Zephyr's youngest brother Gabe, who couldn't have been much older than six. Moe's parents and brothers seemed mildly astonished at the arrival of Gavin and Keegan along with everyone else. Lloyd himself mostly watched everyone else quietly as he stood next to Lisa who was much quieter than usual. The incident in the Toxic Bogs had really shaken her he guessed. She did lighten up and bit and chat a little when Moe came over to them to report to Lloyd that he had warned every person he could think of that was trustworthy about the pack and the asteroid; most of them being elemental masters or relatives of elemental masters. "Some of them even wanted to help," said Moe as he finished up explaining how contacting them had went. "Good to know if worse comes to worst," replied Lloyd. Honestly, Lloyd hadn't quite yet contemplated what the worst-case scenario would be. Although he knew it wouldn't be wise to dwell on it even if he did. One thing was certain though, he would have a lot to put in his journal the next time he had a chance to write in it.
After watching the family reunion for a bit Skylor decided to go outside on the porch so there would more room in the farmhouse. The climate was much different from the Toxic Bogs where they had just been. The farm was colder and signs of the season such as colorful leaves, evidence of the fresh harvest, and a thin blanket of snow covering the ground were much more evident of the time of year. One of the farm dogs, a border collie, walked over to the house and up the steps to the porch. The dog glanced at Skylor before it laid down on the porch and started licking its paws that were wet from the snow and a little dirty from the mud, dirt, and animal droppings that were around the outbuildings. Minutes passed by as she stood on the porch looking out at the countryside, lost in her own thoughts. She couldn't help but be anxious, she had no idea where her son was or if he was unharmed or not. And so little was known about this enemy who had apparently been picking off elemental masters for generations without being noticed. She had so many questions. The sound of the front door opening made Skylor glance over to see Zephyr had come outside. Before she could go anywhere else Skylor spoke. "I've heard a lot about you, master of gravity." She froze, caught off guard. Zephyr gaped at Skylor in wonder for a second. Skylor was reminded of how famous she and the ninja team was for some still. Although Zephyr was used to hanging around Lloyd by now, the other ninja and Skylor herself were probably still subconsciously like heroes to her even though she was now one of them. Zephyr replied. "Oh yeah, they probably told you about my grandfather and father. And the pack, and Jadyn..." "Yes. Actually, if it's ok, can I talk to you?" asked Skylor. "Sure," said Zephyr.
The wind blew over the fields and sent the cold air at the porch. Zephyr shivered and said. "I'm not used to the cold." "You get more used to it and learn to tolerate it, at least I did," said Skylor grinning. Zephyr showed the hint of a smile. Skylor continued. "Anyway, I was told you were the last person Jadyn spoke to from our side before disappearing again. Could you please tell me, how is he? And how did you plan to meet up with him again?" There were many more questions Skylor wanted to ask, but she refrained from asking them all at once so she wouldn't overwhelm her. Zephyr suddenly seemed tense. "He's ok, as far as I know. We plan to meet in the ruins of the village again. I talked to him there when I was looking for survivors in the debris. I told him not to go back to the pack. But he was insistent." she replied. "I see," said Skylor. She so badly wanted to use the power of mind to see her son in the girl's memories, but she resisted, knowing it was probably not something Zephyr would be comfortable with just yet. "Did you get along ok with him before all this?" asked Skylor. He didn't have many friends or interact with strangers that much before Lloyd started training him, so she wondered if he was even that close with his new teammates like Zephyr or not. Zephyr replied. "Yes, of course. Why wouldn't I? We trained together a lot. And played video games. And we even unlocked our elemental powers at the same time-" "You what?!" asked Skylor, just to make sure she heard right. "What?" said Zephyr. "What you said about unlocking your powers," said Skylor. "Oh, yeah, we figured out how to use them on the same night when we were training. We agreed to overcome our fears. It wasn't our true potentials though. I unlocked my true potential in Hiroshi's Labyrinth when the pack showed up there. Jadyn and the others have yet to do so though." explained Zephyr. "I see. That is good to know," said Skylor.
She now realized that Jadyn might be a lot closer with Zephyr than she had originally thought. How close though? There was only one to find out and Skylor could hardly stop herself. "So, how close are you with Jadyn?" Zephyr seemed flustered for a second as she ran her hand through her bangs, then she seemed thoughtful, then she spoke. "If I were to call anyone my best friend right now, it would be him. I wouldn't know if he'd say the same or not though." Skylor had to hold in a fangirl sized screech. That was the most heartwarming thing she'd heard all day. Of course, she was biased because it was her son they were talking about. Suddenly, a thought that had been sitting at the back of her mind unconsidered and unexplored came to the front of her mind. Was either Jadyn or Zephyr romantically interested in each other? Skylor tried to not get ahead of herself and instead replied. "Wonderful."
Later, back in the living room at the Smith's house, the little orange cat lay on Zephyr's lap purring as she attempted to contemplate the day. Lisa came into the room with a mug and sat down in a chair. Zephyr felt uneasy by how quiet Lisa had been all day. So, she attempted to make conversation with something relevant she had decided. "I think I thought of a name for the cat." "Oh, what's that?" asked Lisa before taking a sip of what was in the mug. "Fritz Donnegan, or Fritz for short," replied Zephyr stroking the cat's head. "Like from Starfarer?" asked Lisa. "Yeah," said Zephyr. "Are you sure you have the energy to go meet Jadyn tonight?" said Lisa. "I'll have to," replied Zephyr grimly. Lisa took another sip of her drink and after a quiet moment, she said. "Why don't you try to get some rest before you have to leave?" "Sure, I guess," said Zephyr.
She decided to try taking Lisa's advice. She couldn't really get comfortable, and the thoughts and feelings she had been holding at the back of her mind the entire day finally came to her full attention. She processes the day of going to the city, facing the gang, going to the serpentine police station, and unintentionally finding her brother. What bothered her the most though, was Thorax. He had both frightened her and disgusted her in a way she had not expected or been prepared for. What's more, she might have ended his life. The realization that she and her powers could do that so easily was a bit of a shock. What if she ever accidentally injured someone, or whose? However, there was also comfort in knowing she had her element to get out of situations like that. Had she been a normal human, even a ninja that just didn't have powers; Thorax attacking her like that could have either been deadly or severely scarred her for life... Not that the graphic memories from earlier that day when she was facing Thorax alone weren't horrible enough. Zephyr shuddered at the thought. Now too shaken to even hope for sleep or rest to come to her.

"I wish I could say the same, but to be honest bro you kinda look a normal dude at first glance," admitted Copic. Night, Kryptarium Prison
As one of the prison guards, it was Norman Flyfree's job to make sure everything was running smoothly in Kryptarium Prison and that the inmates behaved themselves. He walked down the dark hallway, most of the inmates were asleep. It was quiet enough, peaceful in a haunting way. Not many liked the night shift. Preferring instead the hours when the lights were on and the sun was up. But Norman liked the dark and the quiet. It was comforting, even in a horrible place such as Kryptarium. He had started the job many months ago a little while after Norman's brother James, along with his wife and two children, had gone missing. Some private eyes had been hired to look into the case, but they still hadn't been found. After they had disappeared Norman's life had been turned on its head. He became nocturnal and lived off of coffee and junk food he would pick up at the gas station. As he came to the end of the hallway and entered another, he paused, something wasn't right... He flashed his flashlight to the left, nothing, then to the right, a face. Startled, Norman jumped back and accidentally lost his grip on his flashlight, which fell to the floor with a loud clatter that seemed to vibrate the air. The flashlight rolled over to the feet that belonged to the owner of the face, who stopped the flashlight with their foot. The person picked up the flashlight, Norman caught sight of the grim expression and unkempt black hair of a young man in the light of the flashlight before he felt the impact of something hard-hitting him in the head. He fell to the floor, his body stunned and mind confused. He could vaguely feel himself being dragged across the hallway. Surely his fellow prison guards would come help... He felt his hand being forced onto the wall, wait, not the wall, one of the handprint-activated doors. His attacker dumped Norman on the floor and went into the room. Norman used all the willpower and strength he had to shakingly reach for his communication device to alert the other guards. He pushed the button and said into it weakly. "We- we have an escaped prisoner I believe, on floor two, he's dangerous..."

Azalea stepped out into the open fresh air outside of Kryptarium Prison. The wind blew her long black hair into her face. She had heard many stories of breakouts in the past, but never once had she imagined that she would be apart of one. There was a hint of guilt for doing so, after all, only criminals, villains, and elemental masters broke out of prison. At least Azalea and her fellow pack members were breaking out for a worthy cause though. In the long run, history would prove them to be in the right for doing this, even if it was shady now. "For the pack, for the bloodline, for Ninjago..." she whispered as she rushed off to follow the other pack members and the mysterious stranger called Retriever who had just set them free.
Calvin, along with some other pack members who had taken care of the village stood in front of their Master and Alpha. At long last, Calvin would be granted the rank of pack rank. Though he wasn't as excited as he could have been. He wished Azalea was there to see him rank up. He noticed Rose was grinning at him, when she saw he was looking her way she made a face, a half flirting and half mocking face that made him furious. He glared at her as he clenched his crutches. She was probably all too happy that Azalea wasn't around. Rose's curly red hair briefly reminded him of Jadyn. Calvin had been surprised at how horrified and angry the fox rank ninja of fire had been. Surely, they were no longer on good terms and probably wouldn't ever be after that. Why did that make him feel so bad?.. Why would he need to be friends with the likes of Jadyn? Even though he was good to Calvin despite everything... Why couldn't he just go along with everything without thinking about it too much like when Azalea was around? Suddenly Alpha's voice made him draw his attention to the center of the room. "Let this rank-up ceremony begin. Starting with those of you who are currently Student rank." He would have to worry about all that another time. For now, he had to act as if she was watching and bring honor to the pack by giving Alpha his full attention...
