Katie sipped her tea and then placed it back on the table, “You should probably tell me what was so important for you to travel out here and then break in.” Eliea nodded, biting her bagel. “It’s Damian.” Katie perked up, “You’re together!” Elliea choked on her bagel, coughed for a moment, then spoke in a hoarse voice, “What! No! A mission!” Katie’s smile slipped a bit into a pout, “Oh, I guess that’s okay as well….um what then?” Elliea rubbed her forehead distractedly, “Eh um Damian is getting the feeling that things are cropping up. Cypher’s bound to make a move, it’s been five years he’s not the type to plan to sit still and get old. We’re gathering those of the team that are interested in helping us investigate.” There was a moment of silence and she continued. “And if I have my guess at what he’s thinking he’s hoping to dethrone Cypher regardless of probable cause or no.” Katie drank her tea thoughtfully and pondered the proposition for a moment. “And you’re sure you’re not going out?” Elliea just stared at her silently with an unreadable expression. Katie shrugged disappointedly and went on, “I’m in. Let’s go tell my dad then I’ll pack.”
The two girls progressed slowly down the halls and stairs before arriving in front of two massive heavy carven walnut wood doors. Katie rapped her knuckles on them a few times and then pushed them open walking casually into the room. The carpet was thick and two men stood with their backs to the door, gazing out the window with glasses in hand. At Katie’s entrance one of the men turned and smiled at her, “Ah Katie love what is it?” Katie went up and embraced him, “I hope it’s okay to talk for a moment? Looks like you’re doing business.” Her father waved a hand and placed his drink on a nearby small table, “No not at all we’ve finished the business and were just enjoying some small talk about origami.” At that moment the other man in the room looked over where his colleague should have been and then turned around with an inquisitive look. Elliea gasped in shock as green eyes met hers and widened in shock. He turned all the way around a grin spreading across his face.

Gabriel signed out Elliea's name emphatically and rushed over to shake her hand. Then waved a bit awkwardly at Katie, a bit more shy with someone new. Eliea managed to stammer out his name after a moment of initial surprise at his presence. “What are you doing here?” He signed back that this was the job he had told her about earlier. He was going to be a secretary for Katie’s father and her mother. She smiled and congratulated him before Katie addressed her father again. “I wanted to let you know that I’m going to be going travelling with Elliea for an undisclosed amount of time. Work.” Her father looked sad that she was leaving but understanding. “Okay, please try and be safe.” He hugged her, “Be careful.” Gabriel frowned in concern and signed at Elliea requesting information on what was going on and why Katie was sad. She nodded and explained what was going on. His face lit up in excitement and he signed energetically how cool that sounded. Then his smile dimmed a little and his hands faltered a bit as he wished them luck. Elliea stepped closer and put a hand on his arm signing to ask if he was ok. Gabriel shrugged and nodded saying that he was alright, just that he was sad they’d have to be saying goodbye a second time. Katie cleared her throat and quirked an eyebrow at Elliea, “Mind letting the rest of us in on the secret?” Elliea laughed awkwardly and waved her hands, “No no, there’s no secret. He was just wondering about you leaving to do work.” Katie propped her hands on her hips, “He looks sad though.” Eliiea nodded, “First of all he can read your lips so it might be weird to have us talking about him in third person. Secondly he is sad to say goodbye, ‘cause we met already earlier…”

Upon entering the large high roofed oval training hall Cypher started to the right and walked slowly along the catwalk that went around the room, looking down on the, now, twenty students warming up below. He descended and went to the middle of the room, standing with hands behind back until all the Potentials finished warming up and formed three rows left right and center. Cypher snapped his fingers twice, “This is the fourth Challenge you have all undergone and as you know they are completely unforgiving. This one is a little different though, only half of you will move on from this.” A timid looking young man raised his hand and Cypher nodded at him. “Where will the losers be relocated, sir? Will they be demoted to the regular army?” Cypher shook his head and smiled, “They will be relocated to the morgue. And demoted to a pine box. This is not a game 808, this is an elimination until only the best remain. I’m not going to pretend that you will survive, nor anyone else. You will give your all to live and if it is not enough then it’s natural selection.” He turned away from the pale faced 808 and started walking towards the catwalk again. He would be watching from there, about 15 feet up. “Let’s start then, general pair them up.” Everyone was squared up and set to battle. After a victor finished their battle they stood in their square and waited for all to complete their fights as well. The battles ranged from five minutes to twenty and when all had completed the Challenge there were ten remaining. 808 survived with a dislocated arm, but a determined face. Cypher made his way to 502’s square as the general waved him over. 502 was a 6’2 male, strong, with an expressionless face. Cypher pushed 502’s chin left and right and looked him over. “This one is a soldier. Keep an eye on him.” Cypher turned and left and the general barked out an order for all the soldiers to go back to their quarters in the barack. Some Potentials had to be helped from the room but most tried to hide their injuries or wouldn’t accept assistance
502 entered the barrack first and watched to ensure everyone went to either their cot or the table in the corner to get fixed up by 600 or Piper. She was perky and good with medical stuff. 808 put his glasses on clumsily with one hand as 502 walked over to him. “Want that arm back?” 808 smiled a little painfully, “It’d be nice.” 502 grasped his neighbor’s arm and popped it back into the socket. They faced each other again and their smiles faded to solemness. 808 spoke quietly, “You realize he’s going to drive us till there's only one left ...right?” 502 kept a straight face, “One bridge at a time...”
(Haha yay another awkward little ending piece. XP)
So they are friends, whatever they up to I'm rutting for them both now.

Yeah as much as one can be in such a place. Lol me too.
Katie tipped her head and smiled. “Oh really...how would you like to bring him along for a bit. Not the whole while cause security but he might enjoy getting to travel with us for a bit at least.” Elliea had her back to Gabriel and Katie’s father so she just widened her eyes in warning. Katie just rocked back and forth on her heels, grinning. “I think it’d be fun…he's gonna love the others.” Elliea put her face in her hand and then shrugged and straightened up. “Okay, I’ll ask him. But you have to worry about Damian's wrath at bringing a civvie.” She then pointed at her friend warningly, “No trouble causing.” Katie nodded innocently. Elliea then turned back to Gabriel and signed to ask if he would like to travel with them for a while. His hands didn’t move for a long moment and then he fumblingly signed that he would like to go if it was no problem. Elliea frowned, “Is something wrong?” He just shrugged and wouldn’t look her in the eyes. She decided to let it go for the moment and to call Damian a little later to update him.
