I'm guessing they're basically all the same CONcept, in different styles of course.
The movies are more based on an action version, whereas the TV show (I've heard) is more about the method and science of his work. Did you know that Iron Man plays Sherlock in the films, and Doctor Strange plays him in the TV shows?

I go movies. Robert Downey Jr. was Iron Man before taking the role, but Benedict Cumberatch was Sherlock before he got casted into the MCU. They're just both really iCONic actors, big names right now.
