Goatie scratches his head. 'I've no clue. I know what I'd choose for myself personally - the staff blade, like I'm familiar with. But whether it'd save the world, I have not an inkling...can we only choose one?'

"The prophecy specifies that only one item is needed for the task ahead," replies Cinead. "All of these artifacts are here under my protection for good reason."

'In that case, maybe our wisest and most knowledgeable party member should decide?' Goatie steps back, looking around.

Visnja looks at him and shakes her head. "I believe I'm the only one among us with any real education in magic, but this is far beyond me. We don't even know what we're facing."
"Maybe the real question is who's going to be wielding this item in order to save everything," says Alinor.

Azril looks uncertainly between his companions. "But how can we know which one of us will be doing the world-saving?"
Goatie shakes his head and mutters, half to himself. 'For all we know, it could be anyone ... me . . . or Azril . . . or even my Jednook!'
He looks over at his griffin, who is touring the room, sniffing at things - a thousand times more relaxed about being underground than he had been earlier on. The beast looks up at his name being mentioned and chirrups questioningly.
'Okay, 'as anyone got any clue or riddle or something to tell us who's our Weapon-wielding Worldsaver?' suggests Goatie, grinning but sounding a tad exasperated. 'Or do we just 'ave a good old, down-to-earth show of hands voting who's the most capable?'

"As I understand it, the prophecy only specifies that someone must come here and find an item that they can use to save the world. It also gives some vague details about the threat itself, which you would ideally be able to use to inform your selection of item. It may not matter who it is, as long as they have the right item." Cinead explains.
"Well, if the world's ending, I'd prefer to stay here to protect my people," says Alinor.
Visnja shakes her head. "I have no interest in saving the world."
Stig looks across the group. "So that leaves Ninoslave, Melisende, Azril, Goatie, and me."

"Ooh." He perks up. "Maybe so. It'd be nice if the responsibility did not fall all on one person. That sounds dreadful."
"Great," says Stig. "We can do whatever it is we're supposed to do together. But we still have to pick one of these things."
Azril's expression flickers with mingled frustration and confusion. "But it is all so vague... How in the world are we supposed to know which one to pick?"

'My own thoughts exactly,' pipes up Goatie.
OOC: Any hints at all RuleJJ? Or will any weapon work?

"All of these items are powerful," says Cinead, "It is possible that any of them will suffice. But I cannot say more without access to the prophecy."
OOC: Your choice here will affect the story and what you need to do to win. But no choice will make victory impossible.

Goatie is quiet for a bit, clearly mulling over the words.
'Right-ee,' he says cheerfully, after clearing his throat. 'I'm an old veteran, so if anything goes wrong, I've 'ad my time......If nobody else comes forward . . . well, I'll be the one to ... er ... save tha' world.'
Jednook comes over and plants himself next to Goatie loyally, sensing the weight in his master's voice. He squawks, single eye blinking solemnly as he tells Goatie he would be with him all the way.
