"Alright!" shouts Bakar. "That's enough of forms! The perimeter of this courtyard is 138 yards. You are all going to run exactly ten miles. No more, no less. Begin!" Everyone sets out except for the tall, blonde man. "Is there a problem?"
"No, sir."
"Then run!" The blonde man joins the rest of them.
Sanfor silently joins in. His breath comes evenly, running is something he's had a lot of practice with all his travels lately.
The others don't do quite as well as he, but surprisingly the old man is not far behind him, closer than any of the others.
Sanfor finishes with the laps and catches his breath, having finally lost it.
OOC: Ooh, incorrect. I was looking for 127-and-a-half.
IC: Sanfor realizes he should stop when most of the others, a few laps behind him, do. Once everyone is done, Bakar points at Sanfor, the smirking archer, the large man, and the small man. "You, you, you, and you! I said ten miles exactly! Now-!"
But before he can say anything else, Garal enters the courtyard, followed by a tall man covered head to toe in spiky black armor. They walk up to Bakar and Garal says, "Bakar, the Black Knight has returned."
Bakar says nothing at first, simply running his eyes over the armored man. "You could be anyone."
"But I am not anyone," says the armored man, "I am the Black Knight. I remember you, Bakar. You were the first new Shadow Guard member I chose after I became the Black Knight. You outlived all five of your compatriots, and Garal tells me you have done so again. It is a pity you cannot continue to serve in the Shadow Guard. Your experience would be very useful. As it is, I hear we only have two, but perhaps some of these will prove worthy." He looks at the seven trainees. "These are the ones in training, correct?"
Bakar is still staring at the Black Knight. "If you are an impostor, you certainly are a convincing one. Yes, these are the new recruits. Their training just began today."
"Good," says the Black Knight, "I will speak with them. A man should know the people who could be in charge of protecting his life. I will have to speak with that woman when she returns. It does not reflect well on her that she was not present when her lord returned." To Sanfor and the other recruits, he says, "Well? Introduce yourselves!"

OOC: I was close.
IC: Sanfor waits for somebody else to take the initiative.
