I'm going to revive this with one funny thread from the old LMBs. You might remember that there were tons of petitions on Message Boards, most of which never reached their goal. There were way too many of them, and someone got tired of it, so he decided to make...a petition to end all petitions. Yes, that existed. 

Someone even pointed out how weird the idea was, and the creator admitted it had to be weird to get attention. In other words, he admitted that he wanted clicks.
