"I guess I shouldn'ta blame em. If I were's a cat, I'd wantsta keep me tails."
''Yarr, maybe we's can asks a dog?!''
Whistling for her falcon, the creature leans in as the Figure whispers instructions in an unknown tongue before letting it fly northward...
Emiliano leans back on a rickety old rocking chair and begins to chew on a piece of dry grass, smiling as the two friends converse in a rare moment of bliss. Above them, the bright light of a full moon warned of an oncoming storm. Casting a quick glance, the Captain returns her gaze towards Fraser and Jeff, stroking her furrowed brow in somber anticipation.

With nothing but the wind howling, the night comes to a steady halt, almost as if it were holding its breath. Small twinkling lights from the stars above become engulfed in darkness as large clouds move forward to mask their glow.
Emiliano breaks the silence with a cautious warning. "Hope, yon scallywags brought with ye an extra pair of pants, tis about to get ugly."

"Whys its bout to get uglies? Well, I's only got one pair to ma name."
Suddenly, the sharp cry of a vulture pierces the night sky. Rising from her seat, the Captain stares intently once more at the moon, now shrouded in a dark cloud. Gritting her teeth, she mutters under her breath.
"You'd ever notice how yon vultures gather, picking apart the unfortunate without pity. And, pray, if they should find accomplices in the arms of another foul creature. Aye, one feeding off another in a gruesome alliance."
"Aye, but they are quite the loyal companion, aren't they?"
Appearing out of seemingly nowhere are two sharp sabers, each tickling the necks of both Fraiser and Jeff. Out of the darkness, a withered figure decked in regalia tips his hat at the unfortunate pair.

Drinking apple-cider from an abandoned glass, the man raises him arm as a perch for his equally frightening vulture who lets out a fearsome cry in the direction of the two unlucky pirates. The man feeds it a piece of mutton and continues inspecting the surrounding view.
"So this is what's it come to, eh? Paying scoundrels for your dirty work, why, isn't that poetic?"
He sits down and begins to play with the tip of his polished cutlass, all the while enjoying the three acquaintances noticeable discomfort...
"Am I really that frightening, O Reaper of the Seas?"

"Reaper of da seas?"
Hoping off the strange man's shoulder and onto the table, the vulture nips at Jeff, ruffling its neck feathers and letting out another loud squawk before ending with a hiss.
Arising from his seat, the man allows the vulture to return and carries on with his plan. Motioning to his men, he points his cutlass towards his pet's latest victim.
"I take it these are your new friends. They'll make fine arbitrators for our discussion then."
Rounding the three up, the guards begin to rob them of their weapons before pushing them forward with their sabers. Their leader points to the Tavern, but after noticing it's locked he orders one of his strongest guards to kick it down. He then smirks at Emiliano.
"We'll just put it on your tab."
Feeling her pockets, Emiliano notices that her wallet is missing.
They enter the Tavern, with the man performing a mock bow as each of his "guests" go through the door.

*Jeff faints out of shock*
The man's vulture jumps off of his shoulder and begins to poke at him to see if he is still breathing.
