The Dart enters the fray, sailing by at speeds that the larger battleships couldn't hope to match, and staying out of the larger ships' sights. On each pass by they would launch from their cannons a mixture of Split Shot, Shrapnel, Grapeshot, and standard ammunition. The Split shot is to take down the rigging, the Shrapnel is fired over the decks of the ship, generally exploding there and raining down the shrapnel its so aptly named for upon the crew, the Grape Shot achieves a similar result by firing a cluster of small balls at the crew, and the standard cannonballs are aimed at spots above the water line. It appears as though The Dart's goal is not to sink, but to render the french ship helpless.
