As we all know, the LMBs we all know and love is gone. There will be no looking at who got the top likes of the day anymore Also, the galleries, as of recent, have also shut down. This brings me to my question, OBVIOUSLY the Lego Site could be, going down hill (OPINIONS ARE SUBJECTIVE) but I want to know, why? And what does this mean for the future of the Lego site? Will it keep collapsing until the only thing that remains is the online store? Finally, do making these decisions benefit or harm the site in any possible way?
If you ask me, I'm not very educated on the subject, but I can predict why it happened and what is to come (i may be wrong though, its up to you to decide)
I believe the Lego company has decided to lay off staff members. As a result the LMBs were led to closure because the loss in staff members, the galleries soon followed and I believe that the galleries, throughout this year and the next, will be closing, also as a result.
Now, I also believe the Lego company saw profit in making a mobile app, whether it be extra advertising or whatever, the LMBs obviously weren't cutting it and they knew nobody wanted to join an app (did you really want to join lego life when it was released? lets be real here) so the LMBs were thrown out of the picture.
Now, this is my interpretation and I wanna know what you think, what do you predict happened and why?
I think that this spoiled new generation doesn't like to play with real solid LEGOs, but they just diddle around on their parents' phones playing games. So people don't buy LEGOs anymore, so LEGO had to fire some staff workers. Because of this new generation being on phones all the time, they thought that an app would help. I don't think it did.
You are right. My little cousin (who I accidentally got into lego and Star Wars) plays with real lego. I agree this new generation (post 2011) is spoiled.
lt also appears LEGO is getting geared more towards children, the only themes for older people seem to be Technic, Architecture and Creator Expert... There is still a Technic gallery as of posting but I believe that will be gone soon.
What about the Ultimate Collectors Series and Brickheadz?
And there is no reason why older people can't enjoy themes that aren't geared towards them.
That's the truth. In September, LEGO announced the first economic DROP in 13 years, and slashed 8% of its workers. (1,400 workers.) The LEGO Ninjago Movie was a Box Office failure, ranking the lowest opening for LEGO by over 50%. In short, LEGO is losing its appeal to many.
As far as I remember, they only dropped by 5%. It's not as bad as you make it out to be, especially since LEGO pulled through financial disaster.

Exactly. LEGO Life was clearly just an attempt to get kids more interested in LEGO. They must have been bored of it by now, since it can't do anything other than share pictures.

I believe that kids should still play with LEGO. LEGO Life is for posting your LEGO creations online, not just as an app.

Brickheadz is for people of all ages I think. On the box it says ages 10+ so I am not sure.
Oh cool! Er... yes please ? Sounds like those teens are more fun than the teens I know.
Mine do all the time.
Grog tag is were two to three people play the grogs. A creature that freezes the townspeople. In some versions you know who the grogs are in other versions it's a secret until it's to late. And everyone else plays the townspeople. It's the grogs job to go around tagging people and freezing them. And it's the townspeople's job to find all the pieces of a flashlight, put it together and defeat the grogs by shining the light at them. If everyone gets frozen, the grogs win. If all the grogs are defeated, the townspeople win. The townspeople can unfreeze each other if they are unfrozen themselves. Plus the whole game is played in the dark!
They are the teens I know at church. ( I know teens elsewhere too. ) What are those teens like?
That sounds like a ton of fun!!!
They sound fun. The most boring people ever. All they ever do is star at their phones or gossip. (Excluding my friends)

that's sad :/ how lego has to force kids to like their products instead of them liking them in the first place
