Chapter Two: Powers and Clues

"Oooo," bun02 awes. I roll my eyes, smirking. Bun was always enthusiastic, but I think she likes to overdo sometimes just to overdo it. Gnuehchcaz is studying the page, skimming the words. I look up at Shamrock , wondering when he's going to start telling us about the necklace. He turns and looks at me, as if knowing my thoughts. I swallow down the fear that started to rise inside of me.

"The Necklace of Travel is not an ordinary necklace. Be sure to remember that in your travels." His eyes never leave me. I nod my head, understanding and Shamrock shifts his emerald green eyes to Zach, who hasn't looked up from the page. When he finishes his scanning, Zach looks up and meets the gaze of the Head Moderator.

"What do I need to know?" Zach asks.Shamrock smiles and I swallow. Our Head Moderator was always a good leader. He makes all of the decisions that affect the City. He handles it better than others, too. I like to think so at least. Before I was a Moderator, there was a guy who had took the place of the very first person to run the city, who retired, and ended up going mad with the power. Thankfully, Shamrock , with the help MasterOshawott , who has disappeared since, and Keplers , who is a Moderator, overthrew him. No one knew of what happened to him. Rumors had it he was banned. Either way, we don't speak of his name. Out of the three rebel leaders, Shamrock was voted to be the new leader of the City, and all was safe for everyone. Then we came along.

"To get to the Necklace of Travel, you must go through a series of tests. What these tests are, no one knows. I can say that it is claimed that one has to go through Cave of Dreams and The City of Nightmares." He eyes each of us, ending on Zach. "Any questions?" Zach looks to us, and we look back at him.

"You don't have to come with me," he states.

"And have you go off on some adventure alone without anyone to keep you from being destroyed? I don't think so." I smirk at him.

"No way are you getting rid of us that easy," I joke. He gives us a grateful smile, but I can tell he's worried about us getting hurt. We all turn and look at Shamrock .

"I will make your mission as discrete as I can over here, but I'm afraid some rumors have started." I think back to when I told Tigress, discretely about why we weren't going to be here for a while and to make sure K66 didn't worry or miss us too much. Surely she didn't tell anyone. But if not her, who else knew?

"We better get going, then," I say, breaking the small pause. Nodding, Shamrock leads us towards the back of his house, where there is a door. He opens it to reveal a mountain roughly two or three miles away with a green meadow before that.

"Thank you, Shamrock ," Zach says.

" You are most welcome, Gnuehchcaz . I wish luck of goodness upon you and your companions in the next days. Remember to never lost sight as to why you are going." Zach nods his head. “I am also letting RomeNZ have some extra special Moderator Abilities. Just for this trip, and one time.” I feel what I think is a shift in power. I look and feel the same, but I feel different at the same time.

“Thank you, Head Moderator,” I say, bowing my head a little. He nods his head back. We, then, say our goodbyes, and walk out the door. After a few steps away, I turn around to see Shamrock standing in the doorway. In fact, there’s just a doorway, and a mountain range is behind that. Shamrock smiles at me and shuts the door, making any sign that the Cabin was there gone.

“Uh... Does anyone know how we're getting back into the City?" Bun and Zach had also seen the doorway disappear.

"We'll know when we get to that point," I tell them. Zach and I turn to look at each other at the same time. He gives me a small nod, and I turn around and look towards the mountain. "That mountain is exactly 3.2 miles away. We better get going if we're going to get the Necklace."

"How do you know it's exactly 3.2 miles away?" I turn towards Bun, who has turned and is looking at me, and shrug.

"I don't know. Must be with those powers Mr. Shamrock gave me. Besides, I was guessing between two and three miles before he said that." She shrugs back, accepting my answer. Unlike us normal Moderators,Shamrock has always had the gift of being able to "see" what was going on in the City. I think he could see in the future a little, too, but never dare asked about it.

"I wonder what else comes with your power pack," Zach wonders aloud. Not knowing what else to say, we run towards the mountain, hoping to get this journey over as soon as possible.

"I'm not seeing a cave," Bun states. It took an hour and thirty minutes to get to the mountain, and we have been searching for an opening for another hour.

"Do we know what we're suppose to be looking for?" I ask Zach. He looks at me and shrugs.

"It didn't say in the book," he says calmly. Great. We're doing a blind search. I've been noticing bits of thoughts from the two of them since I've gotten my new powers, but decided to keep it to myself since they might consider it as an invasion of privacy. I look up at the mountains for a few seconds, scanning for the opening. Wait a minute, I think. I turn and look at them.

"We're looking for a cave in a mountain, right?" Both of them turn to look at me, curioius as to what I have to say. "We've also been looking up high. If it was up high, how could we walk in?"

"I'm still confused. What are you getting at? Bun asks.

"We've been in the City too long to remember what things look like. Think about it. What do tigers do?"

"Jump?"

"That's Tigger," I say. "We don't know if real things look like, the placement of them, or what they do. Not like we use to, at least."

"We should of brought a book with all of this stuff. Maybe we can look it up when we get back in the BB Bookshelf." After standing in silence for a few moments, we split off to look around the base of the mountain. It wasn't long after that before we found it.

"Good luck everyone," I say. We all look at each other. Zach is standing in the middle. Not know what's ahead, we take each others hands with confidence and hope. We walk into the cave.

I walk into Sweets Café for the first time. I scan among the seats. They had to be here earlier. I just know it. Sweets is rushing around tables, helping the custormers out. They were packed. However, I did not come here to eat. Sweets sees me standing alone by the door, and walks over once she finishes helping her customer.

"Just one?"

"I'm not here to eat, thanks," I say quickly. "I was wondering if you have seen RomeNZ or Gnuehchcaz here anywhere here today." She studies me for a minute.

"Who wants to know and why?" I swallow.

"I do. They have been missing since this morning. Same goes for bun02 ." We stare at each other for about a minute.

"Sorry, girly, haven't seen them."

"Are you certain. I got from a very trustworthy source that they were here." Source? Really? A source? The rumor has been going around all morning.

"They could of came during my break and one of my Robo-Servents could of served them. Either way, they aren't here now, and I have no idea where they are." With that, Sweets storms off to help anohter customer. Feeling lost and defeated, I walk out to find LordTigress .

"There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere! You have to come to the park! There is just simply something you must see!" She begins to tug on my arm.

"We don't have a park here, Tigress!" I say quickly before she drags me to who knows where. This seemed to only incourage her.

"Then lets go see if we can find Shamrock so we can get one! I need some inspriation!" Before I can protest any more, she pulls me into a run as we head for the Mod Building.

When we get there, I have to sit down in a chair to catch my breath. Man am I out of shape. Tigress goes up and talks to Sam8432 , who is sitting behind the desk. Sam is one of the oldest moderators in this city, and always has a friendly aditude. He's wearing a white shirt, a red tuxedo jacket, which is usually blue, green pants, and a white chef's hat. He has blue eyes, and bits of red hair poking out from underneath his hat. I decide to take the time to look around, in search of Rome. Not seeing any sign of him in the room, I begin to wonder if they were banned. I swallow, hoping that was not the case. Sam and Tigress begin to walk over towards me. I push down any remaining fear.

"Hi, K66," Sam says cheerfully. "Tigress tells me you two wish to see Shamrock to tell him about a park idea." Sounds like he might take us to him.

"Yep. Would love to see him about that and other things." I give a smile.

"Great. Follow me, please, ladies, and I shall take you to him." That was easy. Hopefully Shamrock I eye Tigress to see her beaming. She normally goes and hangs out with Jonmbost during the day, so I find it a bit odd as to why she's hanging out with me. Especially since Rome, Bun, and Zach have disappeared. She might know something as well. We follow Sam out of the building and down the street.
