I vote against, except for batman. there are a lot of different batman we need to respect.
I vote against, and, unfortunately, that would include Ciar's ownership of Batman. It may make things a bit more complicated on the Gotham City thread, but we need to respect all users use of their legal rpcs (unless against the rules).
It seems I misunderstood what I was voting for. I was under the misconception that we were voting concerning whether or not two users could use the same character by claiming the version of the character from another reality/world/dimension/interpretation. I was opposed to this shared ownership of a character in my statement on the PA.
I am not sure where I stand on the issue of using characters from alternate realities. On one hand, I think it's great that someone can use their favourite interpretation of the character (whether LEGO Batman, TDK Batman, Prime Earth, New Earth, Flashpoint, etc.). I'm even fine with characters swapping allegiances because of an alternate version of the character (Batman who Laughs, Injustice Superman etc.).
But I also think that maybe this roleplay shouldn't have to define characters by their existences within canon and that once claimed, users can use that character to their hearts content using whatever aspects of the multiverse they like (almost like creating their own interpretation of the character).
So I guess I'm still voting against, but I'm also saying that just because you don't use a certain version of that character, doesn't mean you can't use certain tools/costumes/stories/personalities of those characters.

I claimed TDK Batman, but he is easily changeable with regular Batman. Z-Whales claimed LEGO Batman who is a bit harder. If this passes I will willingly change to regular Batman.
LEGO Batman is a character from The LEGO Movie, because of the crossover act, he should be unclaimable. Z-Whales controls the Batman RPC. Terry McGinnis, Damian Wayne and James Gordon Sr can still be claimed though.

OOC: It's a version of Batman though? I think that all the versions of canon characters should be claimable... Obviously not Sauron or Agent Smith... , but LEGO Batman should be allowed in my opinion...

OOC: Same thing here, I withdraw my vote. Unless, certain terms are changed (combining all versions of one character into one) then i will not be voting.

Well, this is a LEGO Super Heroes RP, so I'd been picturing all the characters as LEGO the whole time. However, I'd never assumed my character was entirely based on the LEGO Movie version of himself, and in my mind he was basically just Batman, simple as that.

LEGO Batman is the interpretation from The LEGO Movie and spin-offs.

Fair enough, yes, LEGO Batman is an interpretation of the Batman character. However, in order to gain ownership of that character one would have to claim Bruce Wayne, meaning that no one else should be able to claim Bruce Wayne. Z-Whales is the controller of the Bruce Wayne rpc as Z-Whales was the first to claim it.
One, my authority shirt is at the cleaners. Thanos and Darkseid and Thanoseid are three completely separate characters in this and the previous RP. The Amalgam universe is a new set of RPCs, not merging the old ones. I don't even want to know how you thought we are allowed to merge our RPCs willy-nilly.
Yes it was. DC Comics published the Amalgam Collection books, and both companies cooperated in the creation of it, as well as the DC v MARVEL story line which preceded it.
This has nothing to do with it. All alternate realities are allowed. All of them WERE allowed. There is no reason to ban them. After all, various Batmans could come in handy. '66 Batman, The Batman, TDK Batman, all of them could be used by users who want to play the role of Batman. Limit the RP to only ONE Batman, you can be sure we'd have issues. We'd have to resort to either picking a character or leaving an RP, or maybe even putting limits on how long a user can hold an RPC, or even ban canon characters altogether.
In short, no.
Tell that to Venomir.
The Old RP is no longer relevant.
I did.
I didn't say it was. And you're only saying that because you weren't there. Project SHaRP was meant to continue the old RP because it was awesome.

Yes, however I was not really thinking of him that way from the start, as I said somewhere else, only when I thought that different versions of characters might end up in this RP did I try to say mine was "LEGO Batman." Before then, everyone had been using their own personal interpretations of a character originating in Marvel or DC Comics. I had been picturing these RPCs as minifigs, since this is a LEGO Board, but I did not see them as the LEGO/spinoff versions of the characters.
I would like to request an HQ topic for one of my Fanon Characters, if that's okay. It's basically his command spaceship, and would have various defenses and security (The normal high tech alien stuff you would see, laser detectors, blasters, etc.).

Yeah, what he said, sorry, I guess I didn't communicate what I want very clearly, what Blight's talking about right now is what I'm talking about, I agree with everything in the quoted post.
