Skybound did happen, Jay just wished for everything to restore, so everyone was alive and Ninjago was back but we still had Echo Zane and the Sky Pirates were still on our side (save Jay some of the inner trauma)
Or Skybound did never happen, but everyone remembers and can sympathize with Jay. (let my boy be happy)
There is a master of Earth, Wind and Fire (make it happen LEGO )
Sensei Wu talks normal in the pilots
Jay keeps the New Jersey accent (not that there's anything wrong with his Canadian accent now)
Jay's season doesn't involve him being abused by his friends, tortured, disowned by his girlfriend and held captive.
The Ninja actually get some focus in TLNM. (As great a character as Lloyd was.)

What if the letter was actually sent from Wu, leading Misako to fall in love with and marry Wu, and Lloyd is Wu's son?
I mean, the Garm/Wu/Sako love triangle would be gone, right?
Well, if Garmadon still had a thing for Misako, even after she and Wu married, the love triangle could still be a thing. Thus animosity within the FSM's family clan would continue.

I think he would. He's evil for 70% of the show, but I don't think Garmy's stupid. No matter how bad it would hurt doing it, at least doing the right thing would feel better than the deception that really played out.
