Do you live in the UK, cos that's exactly what you learn about on the Classical Civilisation course? Alright, why did the Spartans strategy suck so much?
The Spartans did not suck, they had the most powerful army in anchaint greace. And where almost undefeatabal. Though they did suffer from there stubbornness and unwillingness to adapt new tactics.
Well, I suppose it didn't help that the other Greeks thought that using a bow was 'cheating' Just unwillingness, a group of more or less untrained helots and perioeci managed to defeat the first professional army by building a wall. A wall. Then they got Athenians in to destroy it with siege weapons and turned them away because they were afraid of them telling the helots and perioeci about democracy Just a little stubborn

Decoys! Did you know there was a British ship that carried no guns but was equipped with logs and broomsticks to give the impression that the Brits had more firepower than they actually had? I thing the ship was called the HMS Centurion or something like that.
There were so many awesome decoy operations during the war...
But I think Operation Habbakuk to be the most amazing Allied project next to the atomic bomb. Check it out.
That was cool though it never worked out. My friend did a project on it last year. And the Atom Bomb is actually pretty debated whether they should've been used.

WWII is a big discussion, what do you want to talk about in it?

Decoys have been a very interesting aspect of war for many years. Armored cars with large cutouts added to give them the silhoette of tanks, logs carved into the shape of cannon, painted black, and mounted on gun carriages, and other ploys.

*I google it*
Oh, right, the giant ice Aircraft Carrier. Pykrete, technically, I see. I read about it once but forgot most of the details. It's an amazing idea, but doesn't sound terribly practical.

All of it! I love every facet of the war.
WWII history is one of my favorite periods of history to learn about as well.
A few months ago I found the US Army in WWII series in my college Library, and read some of it. The massive amount of detail was a bit overwhelming, but that's what makes it a fascinating series.
Have you read Panzer leader, by General Heinz Guderian, the German general who lead the tanks that smashed through the Allied right flank during the Battle of France, and pushed them back to Dunkirk?

I actually saw that book when I was out today but I haven't read it.
Mmm... that was a short fight. I liked the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and the Battle of Wizna from 7-10 September 1939.
